GU Energy Roctane Energy Drink

630x240roctane

I’ve been waiting for the release of this drink for a lil while now. I first heard of it’s creation around the time of the Kona Iron Man competition. The reason I am so excited about this product is this.. The Roctane Gels are like turbo charged energy gels.. So much that my legs shook the first time I took one of them. They are seriously that strong but not for you guys that drink 5 trienta sized cups at starbucks a day.

I drink the GU brew on a regular basis.. Training, racing and electrolyte replenishment but what i’ve always wanted was a better solution for at the races. Since our sport is a 8 hour drawn out parade it’s a constant battle to keep focus up, fuel stores filled and the body ready to compete because we have so much downtime between rounds. Of course you can eat the gels and chomps but with a day like that it’s going to take a lot of product to keep you grounded in the areas you desire.

The Roctane Drink in my opinion seals the gap i’ve been looking to get over. That is a liquid product that has caffeine, and other energy sources such as Taurine and performance enhancing ingredients (legal of course!) such as Beta-Alanine, and most importantly soft and easily put on the stomach without the harmful sugars! GU Roctane  Energy Drink it is!

From what I understand at the moment, it will come in three flavors Lemon-Lime, Tropical Punch, & Grape

I’ll get my first taste of the product any day now when my samples hit the door.

Ingredients are as follows below.

For additional information check out GU ROCTANE ENERGY DRINK

Key electrolytes – Sodium and potassium properly maintain hydration
Taurine – Can help maintain heart & muscle performance during prolonged exercise which would otherwise lead to fatigue and decreased performance

Caffeine (except grape flavor) – Stimulates the central nervous system and reduces pain perception leading to prolonged exercise, delayed fatigue and increased performance

Beta-Alanine & Histidine – Helps buffer acid caused by going over lactate threshold; amino acids help prevent muscle damage and aid with muscle recovery

Branch Chain Amino Acids (Leucine, Valine, Isoleucine) – Shown to serve as an additional fuel source (when taken with carbohydrates), reduce muscle damage, enhance recovery and delay fatigue – all critical during intense or long efforts
